Monotypes Using Gelatin Plates

August 24, 2018 - 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

In summer 2018, the Santa Paula Art Museum will launch a new Studio Art Program in its newly renovated Cole Creativity Center for children, teens, and adults!

Used by seasoned artists yet easy enough for the beginner, monotypes using gelatin prints is a fast, fun, color-filled experience in printmaking. Students will learn to make their own gelatin plate, use a variety of tools to create expressive and spontaneous imagery, and employ water based inks to generate multiple prints to take home. Join artist Gail Herscher to learn this lively process that you can easily do at home.

This course is for adults aged 16 and over. The cost of the two-part series is $80.00. This course must be taken as a two-part series. Session I (making plates) will be held Friday, August 24, 2018, from 7pm to 9pm. Session II (printmaking) will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018, from 7pm to 9pm.
